Phoenix-Based Game Development Studio, Industry Games, Emerges from Stealth Mode
Team Developing Core Games for PC and Consoles with First Title Coming in Spring
GILBERT, Arizona – January 25, 2016 – Industry Games, a game development studio setup focused on games for core gamers, was announced today. The studio has been quietly developing and adding key talent while in stealth mode since late 2013, and is now nearing the announcement of its first title. One of the cornerstones of the company’s mission is to empower the community to take the games created by the studio and make them their own through mod tools, editors and feedback to the dev team.
“Our goal is to establish Industry Games as a leading AAA studio and publisher of games for core gamers,” said Warren Weems, founder and CEO of Industry Games. “Our first game has been in development for 18 months and we’ll be taking the wraps off of that in the next couple of months. In the meantime, we continue to look for talented developers that want to be a part of a growing team of passionate, experienced game developers”
“We’ve got big plans for where we want to take the company as well as the games we’re creating,” said John Kenison, COO of Industry Games. “We’re hardcore gamers and it’s natural for us to focus on the types of games we want to play, especially as large parts of the industry have gone towards casual games.”
Industry Games currently employs more than 20 developers and is looking to grow the team over the coming year. The studio has a plan to bring multiple games to market over the next few years and has the resources to deliver AAA quality titles without needing a publishing partner. Industry Games is building their titles on Epic’s Unreal Engine so it can deliver the visual quality and gameplay that core gamers want.
About Industry Games Founded in 2013, and based in Gilbert, Arizona, Industry Games is focused on core games for core gamers. The team consists of veterans from Valve Software, Certain Affinity, 7 Studios, Turbine, and Blizzard Entertainment. The company’s goal is to deliver new open world games as well as tools for the community to modify its games and make them their own. For more information, please visit: www.industrygames.com

Klang Games Partners with Tilting Point to Launch and Operate ReRunners
Venture Backed Indie Game Studio Adds Support from Leading Publishing Services Provider
Berlin and New York – October 28, 2015 – Klang Games, a Berlin-based independent game development studio, today announced an agreement with publishing partner Tilting Point to support ReRunners, the upcoming multiplayer platform racer for mobile and tablet. Klang Games recently received an investment from the game-focused venture capital firm, London Venture Partners. The collaboration with Tilting Point will afford ReRunners a greater opportunity for success through a combination of funding, operational support, marketing, and live ops, while Klang Games retains full creative control and IP ownership.
ReRunners will be joining Tilting Point’s growing game roster, which includes the App Store Best of 2014 and Apple Design Award winning hit, Leo’s Fortune, the popular word and puzzle game hybrid, Languinis, and Beat Sports, the Apple TV exclusive game from developer Harmonix.
Tilting Point’s mission is to facilitate success for promising independent developers in the highly competitive mobile game market. The new agreement will see Tilting Point helping Klang with a range of fundamental services including marketing, user acquisition, analytics, quality assurance, and localization.
"Tilting Point sees the vision and potential in ReRunners and impressed us with their comprehensive in-house team and clear focus on their external developer partners,” commented Ívar Emilsson, game designer and co-founder of Klang Games. “They also posted some outstanding race times during their testing ofReRunners so we decided to do the deal with them!"
Klang Games was founded in 2013 by Ívar Emilsson, Mundi Vondi, and Oddur Magnússon. Icelandic game developers Ívar Emilsson and Oddur Magnússon have collectively built up 20 years’ experience in developing online multiplayer games, working at game studio CCP Games – known for the popular MMO, EVE Online, and the FPS, Dust 514 – and artist Mundi Vondi has an extensive background in art and design.
Dan Sherman, president and co-founder of Tilting Point, commented on the new partnership agreement, “This deal marks a new era of collaboration between independent developers and the growing ecosystem of organizations that are designed to support them. Many consider the backing of a top tier game VC like LVP and the unique publishing services model of a partner like Tilting Point to be mutually exclusive. In fact, we bring very different and complementary strengths to the table, which when combined give Klang and ReRunners the best shot at success.”
David Gardner, co-founder of London Venture Partners, led the firm’s investment in Klang and explains meeting Klang and the Tilting Point partnership:
“I first heard of Klang through the Icelandic gaming community. I was made aware that a talented group of guys were building something fun and fast-paced in Berlin, expanding on their massively multiplayer experience gained from EVE Online. I had an initial Skype call and looked at the game – there was something special, something brilliant about the way multiplayer showed up in the creative work. We continued to get to know them over the months that followed and just had to invest; we couldn’t get the game out of our heads. I’m excited to see that Tilting Point feels the same and will partner to bring this team to content hungry gamers everywhere!”
Currently in its Beta stage, ReRunners is an online, asynchronous multiplayer game for mobile and tablet that features an open world and fast-paced racing gameplay. The game is set to raise the bar of the 2D platformer genre, by combining adventure, racing, action, and RPG elements in a socially engaging environment. ReRunners is set to launch in early 2016.

'Rockfest' opens its gates on iOS
The first festival tycoon game with real band integration now available for free on the App Store
Headup Games is pleased to announce todays release of Rockfest. In a classical isometric 2D-perspective the player builds and maintains his very own rock festival. Special thing about it: musicians and bands can upload and publish their own music and band information via a web platform (www.rockfest-game.com ). The uploaded songs are played while playing the game itself afterwards - sorted by genres like Hardrock, Metal, Punk and Electronic. If a player likes what he/she hears, the song can be added to the personal line-up and even rock the (ingame) stage live. Bands/musicians playing a lot of virtual festivals are going to conquer the global Rockfest-charts and are heard by many new listeners and potential fans.
The gameplay of Rockfest, developed by Independent Arts, is as simple as it is hooking: the players are building tents, takeaways, stages and a lot more to satisfy their Rock’n’Roll audience. The festivals atmosphere needs to be stabilized and experience points need to be gathered to unlock new attractions for the visitors. In the meantime it’s also just a lot of fun to watch the tiny rockers walking around and be happy about a crowded stage after starting the personal line-up.
Rockfest is available now for free in the AppStore.
Build your own festival in Rockfest! Create your festival like you always wanted and build tents, takeaways, toilets, rides and more in order to satisfy the needs of your visitors. Take care of fresh supplies and keep the area clean to avoid the festival drowning in chaos.
Real bands for your lineup! The festival radio offers you a wide range of music streams from different genres. Whether you prefer hard rock, metal, alternative, punk, hardcore, electronic music or hip-hop – create your own lineup. The highlight: the music in the game is music from real newcomer artists. If you are a musician yourself or if you play in a band you can also upload your own music and rock the festivals of players all over the world! The game internal charts show you which bands are hot among the players. Is your band in the charts? Maybe you also discover the next rock star or simply your new favourite band.
It's a long way to the top! In the beginning your festival will be small, with a handmade stage consisting of pallets, planks and nails and a two-digit audience. But don´t give up – give the visitors what they want, collect XP, enlarge your festival site and soon you will be among the other top festival managers. Start your own festival today!

FromSoftware Uses SIMPLYGON in the Creation of PlayStation 4 Exclusive, Bloodborne
Total Production Time Reduced by 20 Man Months as Simplygon®Becomes the Equivalent of a Dedicate Developer on the Team for the Entire Duration of Production
Linköping , Sweden and TOKYO, Japan - August 10, 2015 - Simplygon, the leading provider of automatic 3D optimization solutions for digital content creation, and FromSoftware, Inc., today announced that Simplygon has been used in the creation of the PlayStation®4 exclusive title, Bloodborne. Over the course of production, Simplygon was used to process around 10,000 models, including test data while delivering Level of Detail (LoD) models that optimized the polygon counts to help deliver a stunning visual experience.
“Simplygon saved the labor equivalent of 20 man months, or in other words, an entire dedicated production team member for the duration of the production,” said the development team of FromSoftware, Inc. “The benefits are clear as we used the tool to reduce polygons in about 10,000 models ranging from 1,000 to 200,000 polygons. The best result is that players can’t see the reduction because the models keep their fidelity at all distances which keeps the players immersed.”
“FromSoftware are legends in the games industry and over the past three decades have been at the forefront of high quality games that truly excite players through their gameplay and visuals,” said Martin Ekdal, Co-founder and Vice President of Business Development at Simplygon. “With Simplygon we’re enabling creators to focus more on the creative parts of development while we automate multiple production processes and improve the performance.”
Simplygon is popular amongst developers of mobile games; AAA PC and console games; and large MMOs, and is applicable to any medium where 3D art assets are created or utilized. By automatically generating lower-polygon models that are required for different levels of detail (LOD), an optimization process for making games and visual scenes run smoother, at higher frame-rates, and requiring less data, Simplygon helps digital content creators save important resources where artists would otherwise need to manually re-create large amounts of content.
