Sean Kauppinen IDEA (International Digital Entertainment Agency) +1-415-299-2156
Karlsruhe, Germany, June 30, 2015 – Gameforge and Robot Entertainment have announced that a new PvE section will be coming to the closed beta of Orcs Must Die! Unchained as part of the update planned for July 1st. Endless mode represents the further development of the PvP mechanics that are already available and also a continuation of the game elements that made the franchise famous. In addition, the patch brings a new game mechanic to user defined, custom matches. This mechanic allows players to capture neutral points and then use them to send particularly powerful minions into battle.
On the hunt for the ultimate wave! The new update expands Orcs Must Die! Unchained’s content, building on the fan favourite PvP experience with additional PvE content. Hordes of ever-stronger orcs, bears, ogres and other, newer creatures such as the dwarf grenadiers, forest giants and Cyclops mages charge towards the players’ fortress. Just as in PvP, the heroes need to defend their own rift making use of their skills and traps. In addition to normal trap construction, during combat there is the chance for players to set up multiple traps before the game starts and the first wave of enemies comes. This then allows player teams to come up with the best possible agreement on placements and increases the tactical possibilities prior to the siege.
Get ready to be unchained! A well-organised team can now also profit from another new mechanic in PvE: the Unchained Meter. A barometer fills up as you eliminate enemies through combos, i.e. in a combination of traps and hero attack damage. Once charged, the group enters Unchained Mode and unleashes a greater level of destruction. All heroes get a health and mana bonus as well as reduced cooldowns for their skills. The difficulty rises in spite of all advantages however, rising from wave to wave and demanding the whole team’s attention during special boss waves. New bosses, such as Dread, a heavily armoured orc, or Sarge, a plate-armoured soldier, ensure that groups soon start to feel the heat. Supreme performances will be rewarded with a high ranking in the leaderboards, on which players can compare their results with others.
This is ours – capture neutral targets The patch brings a new option to custom PvP matches: two additional, neutral targets. With set monster waves, these points will be made freely available to players and can be captured by one team. If a team manages to capture both points then a boss card can be placed in one of the opened camps, which will then head into battle in the next wave. This tactical feature gives matches a whole new feel as teams go head to head alongside the various attack lanes, providing a real challenge in the fight for supremacy on the battlefield.
More features at a glance - New map ‘Unchained Fortress’ is now the default map in matchmaking - Hero battle levels now increased to ten - All war camps now have a standard wave should players not place any cards - New three-level confirmation system for hero choice (select hero, confirm deck and set talents) - Fire damage over time now stacks providing it comes from different sources (magic or different trap types) - New bot: Hogarth - New skins for Smolder and Hogarth - Lots of small changes to heroes, minions, map dynamics as well as the user interface, performance and visual effects

Simplygon Reduces Polycount of Dying Light’s Key Assets by 70 Percent
Simplygon Speeds up Development of Popular Action Survival Game by Automating and Optimizing the Art Asset Creation Process
LINKÖPING, Sweden and WARSAW, Poland - June 11, 2015 - Techland, creators of the critically acclaimed action survival game, Dying Light, are using Simplygon, the leading automatic 3D optimization solution for digital content creation, in the continuing development of their game. Dying Light is published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
“We have used Simplygon mostly to reduce polycount on character models and to prepare shadow casting geometry for them”, said Rafał Zerych, Asset Manager at Techland. “In most cases the size was reduced to less than 30% for LODs and less than 25% for shadow casters. Simplygon helped us to prepare our main character assets that generate 99% of the NPCs in Dying Light, and weeks of work was done in just a few days.”
How Simplygon Helped in the Development of Dying Light The main character assets consist over 20 character models with over 100 elements each. Each element had to be made in a Level Of Detail (LOD) version and an additional 24 had to be made in shadow casting versions. That was just one character model, with animation skinning and fully mapped textures.
For Techland, there was no time for remapping and reskinning and no place for errors. In numbers, Dying Light’s most complicated character asset, with all elements, comes in at 144,988 triangles. Simplygon reduced that to 34,849 in total.
Shadow casting geometry was created in just few clicks with geometry of 28,241 triangles. All 20 character models have about 800,000 triangles in total and this was reduced to around 240,000 triangles in total.
Simplygon is popular amongst developers of mobile games; AAA PC and console games; and large MMOs, and is applicable to any medium where 3D art assets are created or utilized. By automatically generating lower-polygon models that are required for different levels of detail (LOD), an optimization process for making games and visual scenes run smoother, at higher frame-rates, and requiring less data, Simplygon helps digital content creators save important resources where artists would otherwise need to manually re-create large amounts of content.

Action RPG Sigils: Battle for Raios releases on iPad
Quick sessions | Multiplayer battling in real-time | Free to play
KARLSRUHE, Germany – May 21, 2015 –/ MobileGameWire/ TodayGameforge and Sproing announce the release of the Action RPG Sigils: Battle for Raios on iPad. The free multiplayer game is now available for download exclusively in the App Store. Sigils unites role-playing elements including character development with MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) gameplay. Presented in the form of short, yet captivating battles, and featuring PvE mode (for single or co-op play), and real-time PvP battles, Sigils offer a long-term challenge for beginners and experienced gamers alike. Together with a wide variety of playable champions and an intuitive matchmaking system, Sigils offers the easiest way ever to organize your own LAN party.
Just like in other role-playing games, all champions have access to certain specializations. Sturdy tanks stand side by side with powerful damage dealers and provident healers.
The heroes in Sigils: Battle for Raios are humanoid creatures. The animals within give the brave warriors their fierce appearance as well as their characteristics, making recognition of each figure’s roles instantaneous.
Fifteen of these unique champions are ready and waiting at release. New combatants will be populating the world of Raios in future updates, adding even more variety to the game.
In Sigils, players assume the role of the mysterious traveler, who accompanies and controls one of these fighters in battle. The opportunity to unlock all available heroes for an account and then freely select from them prior to each engagement highlights the collectable character of the game and keeps players coming back to the action RPG for more. Players follow the storyline through the course of the PvE campaign and experience the invasion of Xestia, the eerie insect queen and her army through the eyes of their selected champion. Playing single or in a cooperative group, gamers face up to hordes of slimy maggots, descending spiders and giant praying mantises.
Each of the playable champions can rise up to a maximum level of 18 with the experience they acquire from battles. In addition, the traveler gains experience with each challenge withstood and in doing so, unlocks new slots for the sigils this game was named after. By using these skill seals, the individual heroes can set themselves up for massive diversification: bruiser tanks can develop support abilities or greatly increase the value of their damage output. Additional items that come as loot drops in the story mode not only add to the players’ motivation, but also allow for further specialization of the chosen warriors and invite experimentation.
The Power of a Team
Intense multiplayer action, in PvP and PvE, is the beating heart of Sigils: Battle for Raios. The smart group search function ensures that suitable groups are found for the next epic challenge. The chat function and the friend list also allow for grouping with friends against computer controlled enemies and human challengers. An extensive tutorial, tablet-optimized controls and a smooth learning curve within the story mode make it easy to get up and going within the game. Ranking lists and detailed statistics help to draw in the pros. Only groups that are able to harmonize their abilities, match their equipment to their play styles, and follow a shared tactical plan will be ableto make it to the top ranks of the PvP combat leaderboard!
